After acquiring Twitter, Elon Musk make plans to improve the platform. The new Twitter owner talked about introducing End-to-End encryption. He noted that this innovation would enhance security and privacy within the platform, like Signal. This way, hackers can’t hack or spy on messages of users.
Also, the Twitter CEO explained that he’d be introducing better features to better user experience for its users. Musk stated that he’d ensure that Twitter’s algorithms are open-source to increase reliability, trust, eradicate spambots, and secure humanity.
The social media giant had announced signing an agreement with an Elon Musk’s firm. This transaction was worth $44 billion in cash. According to the announcement, the companies will close the deal in six months. During the deal, Mr. Musk acquired US$25.5 billion worth of fully committed margin loan and debt financing. He is currently offering exactly US$21.0 billion worth of equity commitment.
Absence of E2EE poses a threat to Twitter community
Before now, the absence of end-to-end encryption (E2EE) within Twitter’s direction messages has been an area of concern. On that, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EEF) observed that this could compromise users’ privacy on Twitter. Chats are not encrypted. Twitter can access the chats of their users and even hand them over in compliance with law agencies.
